Have you ever listed to the voices in your favorite animated films or audio books and thought "I can do that!"?

Radio acting puts all of the emphasis on using your voice to express the emotions and characteristics of the person (or thing) you are portraying.

During this one-day class, students will warm up their voices and dive into auditioning for roles in this brand new adaptation of "The Land of Oz" featuring characters you might know- and some you've probably never heard of. Roles will be cast and the team will jump right into recording scenes, dialogue, and narration to create a brand new radio play. Students will read from the script so no memorization is required!

After the WMCT-TV edits the piece it will be available on Apple Podcasts, Amazon Music, and Spotify to listen and share with your friends, family, and fan club.

“The Land of Oz” tells the tale of what happened after Dorothy left…the boy Tip and his friends Pumpkinhead, Scarecrow, Glinda, and more, go up against the evil witch Mombi…and discover the secret of the rightful ruler of the Emerald City!

In this Acting for the Radio Class, students will act and record dialogue for a new adaptation of L. Frank Baum’s second Oz book, The Land of Oz! The recordings will be edited together with music by the “wizards” of WMCT-TV to create a fully produced radio-play!
