Successful Parade Coverage

Monday, September 6th, 2010

Excellent job by our staff and freelancers today on the live Labor Day Parade coverage!  Sue Leeber and Kristen Doucet did their usual great job of calling the parade.  Rob O’Keefe did a good job in his Parade directing debut!  And the rest of the crew (Kelly McLaughlin, Mike Lawton, Alec Palmer, Jim Coggins, Justin Petty, Rick Doty and Dan Guindon) did great!

WMCT To Cover Bed Race Live

Saturday, September 4th, 2010

WMCT-TV is proud to announce that they will have a crew covering the Lions Club Bed Race at 9am on Labor Day morning. Usually, the staff is busy with technical set up for the parade, which reaches the WMCT-TV location shortly after noon.
“We have a really strong crew that will handle all that needs to be done. That will allow for several of us to focus on the Bed Race,” said Executive Director, Dan Guindon.
The idea of covering the race live was Program Director, Rob O’Keefe’s. He will handle the play-by-play operations while Guindon, Producer Mike Lawton and Crew Member, Jim Coggins will run camera for the event.
“It will be great. We’re looking forward to adding the race to our usual coverage,” stated O’Keefe.

A Day In The Life Has A New Host

Thursday, August 26th, 2010

After A Day In The Life and Movie House host, Alexandra Rosenfeld announced she was leaving a few weeks ago, WMCT was left with a couple holes to fill. One of them, according to Executive Director Dan Guindon, has now been filled.

Local Marlborough resident, Melanie Francis will become the new host of A Day In The Life when it begins it’s new season in November.
“Melanie has been working as a reporter for Marlborough This Week, so bringing her in to A Day In The Life should be an easy transition, ” stated Guindon.

Francis said she’s really excited to become the host of one of WMCT’s most established shows. Having worked with the staff of WMCT she is comfortable moving ahead as part of this production.

A replacement host for Movie House has yet to be announced. Guindon said they are working on it.

WMCT Says Goodbye To Al

Alexandra Rosenfeld

Alexandra Rosenfeld

On Friday, A Day In The Life and Movie House host, Alexandra Rosenfeld notified WMCT that she is moving to Indiana to further her career in broadcasting.

“We wish Al the best, of course, but at the same time we are sad to see her go,” stated WMCT Executive Director Dan Guindon. “She was a big part of our family here for a couple years. She’ll be missed…and hard to replace.”

Rosenfeld had become a fixture in WMCT viewer homes on holidays when Movie House would run holiday marathons of it’s successful program.

Guindon went on to say that he and Program Director, Rob O’Keefe would begin the process of looking for replacements to host Movie House and A Day In The Life sometime in early August.

New Schedule Starts Sunday

Tuesday, June 1st, 2010

In order to keep things from getting too stale, WMCT-TV likes to change it’s schedule every once in a while. Sunday, June 6th will be the latest time this happens.
Besides seeing our newest programs (Living History & Drawing with Mark) debut, WMCT-TV will see programming blocks change. More programs will play instead of seeing one hour blocks of the same show going back-to-back.
As usual, your input and suggestions are welcome and seriously considered. So if you are unhappy with anything on the new schedule…speak up! We’re listening!

See the schedule HERE.

Roast Of Steve LeDuc

Friday, May 21st, 2010

What a night! A success for Employment Options and all of Steve’s family and friends that took shots at him! David Greenwood gets a big thanks too for making the night happen. I also want to thank Ed Harding for being the Emcee. He did a great job!
Being a WMCT-TV homer, I want to thank Rob O’Keefe, my Program Director. If it wasn’t for him the LeDuc Bio video would not have been as funny as it was! I also want to thank the rest of my staff- Kristen Doucet, Kelly McLaughlin and Mike Lawton. Marlborough can enjoy one of the best local tv stations in the state thanks to all their hard work and dedication.
If you want to purchase a copy of the Roast, we’ll have them available for $20 each in a few weeks. Half of the proceeds will go to Employment Options.
Oh, and Steve? We’re still friends, right? :)

WMCT-TV has been working hard to get some of our older programming that no longer exists onto our web site for viewing. We are still working on the page and it will take some time to get it completed, but you should go and see what we have so far…if you haven’t already!
Historically Speaking has a three-part episode on there now. We even found an old Marlborough Minutes news update from 1996! Do any of you remember Michelle Creswell? She was our first Kristen Doucet! Go to the Archives Page now and check it out!
