Channel Lineup Move “Seamless”
Friday, March 23rd, 2012It’s been 4 days since Comcast made their channel lineup change placing WMCT on channel 8 and Marlborough Access (formerly known as m8) on channel 96. Verizon “piggy-backs” Comcast’s signal so the move also affected their channel lineup, moving WMCT to channel 33 and Marlborough Access to channel 34.
“In 16 years I’ve seen several channel lineup changes to our stations and none of them have gone so smoothly,” said Executive Director, Dan Guindon.
He said Comacst sent out letters to their customers to let them know of the change. WMCT and Marlborough Access notified viewers through this web site and WMCT’s Facebook page (have YOU liked us yet?). Marlborough Access producers were notified by a blast email from Access Coordinator, Vanessa Gallant.
“We have fielded one call from one Comcast viewer who said that he didn’t get a letter in the mail from Comcast, but that’s it!” added Guindon. “Not bad, considering past confusions.”
WMCT Is Moving
Tuesday, March 13th, 2012WMCT and m8 were informed of a channel line up change by Comcast. WWDP will move from channel 19 to channel 10. WMCT will move from channel 10 to channel 8. m8 (which will take on a new name to be announced later) will move from channel 8 to channel 96.
“It’s not an easy thing to have to do, but we’ve done it before,” said Executive Director, Dan Guindon. “There isn’t anything we can do about it.”
Customers of Comcast Cable will see the change take place on Tuesday, March 20th.
